Will Duke be in a Bucs uni in 2011?
Lefty Zach Duke is entering his third year of arbitration eligibility. If he is not tendered by December 2nd, he will become a free-agent.
Duke’s 2010 season was a career worst, 8-15 with a 5.72 ERA. He made $4.3 M and it could raise near $6 Million if the Pirates decide to keep him for next season.
Duke’s last start of the season –and possibly as a Bucco– resulted in a loss after allowing nine runs (four earned) on eight hits through four innings.
The 27-year-old is 45-70 with a 4.54 ERA in five seasons with the Pirates.
