I was so pleased to see that the Pirates picked up Brandon Wood. I know his batting average stinks – which is why the Angels had to DFA him, our plate woes are already our Achilles heel as it is – but I think you’re getting a stand-up player who might benefit the team. He’s a good defensive short stop and a pretty good defensive corners infielder. I hope that once he’s away from all of the Angels fans “second coming of Troy Glaus” expectations, he’ll start hitting too.

That was legen……wait for it, hope your not lactose intolerant because the last part is ..DARYYYYY.. Though it may be to early to tell to some critics I think these Pirates will be more competitive in games and within the next couple of years a very serious threat in the division. I feel the Cardinals are beginning to decline due to age, the Brewers may emerge this year as the winner but they too may be taken by surprise playing the Buccos!! as always love the blog!!-chrisward2421

I heard the same thing from someone who lives in Cincinatti. The only reason I care is because it set a new MLB Record. 102 is not 106. It’s a pretty big difference. When he threw 106, the tv broadcast showed 105 then they showed the radar gun at the stadium that said 106. Game day showed 102 for the same pitch.
Either way, it’s insanely fast. I’d rather it just be right though.

Highly doubt it was 106. My roommate goes to games to Cincy, and he says they beef up the numbers on the gun, especially when Chapman is in. Just about every ballpark does it too. blackandyellow12.wordpress.com

Greetings! As an Indians fan I have to ask - what is your impression of GM Neal Huntingon so far? He was an up and comer in the Indians organization but was blocked by Antonetti and went to the Pirates.
