Did Chapman really throw 106?
In the bottom of the 9th inning, of Monday’s 9-3 win over the Reds, flame thrower Aroldis Chapman was on the mound facing Andrew McCutchen.
The radar gun at Great American Ball Park showed that Chapman hit 106 during the at-bat. MLB Game day was showing him topping out at 102 MPH.
GABP’s radar gun was also off yesterday, showing Joel Hanrahan hit 101 when game day showed 99.
The only reason why I’m bringing this up is because if, in fact, Chapman threw 106, it would be a major league record for the fastest pitch according to MLB Network.
Which one is correct?
